This sprinkler system was designed to utilise a 50mm towns main supply brought into the ground floor undercroft carparking area. From the ground floor plant room, here the dedicated sprinkler riser steps over across the ground ancillary spaces then rises through the sprinklered levels 1st – 4th floors; Teeing off into each floors zone valve assemblies to serve the heads on the corresponding floors. By using a combination of 2” down to ¾” pipes, we were able reduce the costing for this project as well as being able to reduce the hydraulic demand on the mains fed system. When installing the corridor feeds we needed to coordinate with a number of other services in a tight ceiling void, coordination with the M&E designers was undertaken to ensure installation ran smoothly with our engineers and other services on site. The sprinkler heads placement was sympathetically designed taking into consideration the customers reflected ceiling plans.
